Photographer's Note

Even if you aren't an art buff, the Vigeland Sculpture Park is a must-see when visiting Oslo. I especially like the white granite figures around the highest point of the park. 36 wonderfully crafted groups depict the human life from birth to death.

For photo buffs it also makes for a great training ground to experiment with composition. First of all the placement of the sculptures allows for various points of view, from close, far, below, eye-level and above. Second there are always plenty of tourists (and kids touching and climbing) to juxtapose, even on rainy days.

One last hint: Go alone, or you'll strain the patience of any non-photographer companion ;-)
