Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in Kaupanger, a small village near Sogndal, on the Sognefjord. Kaupanger is the arrival of the ferry from Gidvangen, a 2 hour trip which is a must, as the ferry goes along one of the most spectacular jords in Norway, the Nerofjord (with a rather approximate spelling). This fjord is a branch of the Sognefjord, a fjord which goes inland for several hundreds Kilometers. Vertical cliffs, up to 1000 meters high, waterfalls falling directly into the sea, and magic play of the sunlight with the clouds are offered to the traveller during the trip, expecially in the first part, where the fjord is very narrow.
