Wilhelminaplein I (Subway St. XIII)

Portrayed here is the entry of subway station Wilhelminaplein. This station is a recent addition to the Erasmus-line between Central Station and Spijkenisse. It has been built as an integral part of the Kop van Zuid urban restructuring plan, well underway modernizing the old harbour area on the South bank of the Maas(with its defunct ports, warehouses and railway heads) into a integrated living, shopping and commercial service quarter.

The glass canopy of the entry of the station is wedged in between the buildings of the district Courthouse and the internal revenue service. The facades of these buildings can be discerned.

In 2005 a 140 meters long underground travelator / tapis roulant has been built to connect to the entry of the new Luxor theatre. A picture of this underpass is here.
A picture of the new Luxor by night is here.

This is the first post of a small B&W series of the Wilhelminaplein subway station.
The unedited version is in the WS for reference.

PCS2 tech: corrected for perspective distortion, cropped, converted to B&W (method: gradient gray scale mapping), adjusted levels, contrast, and curves for the whole pic and some elements of it separately; applied the USM, added a frame and saved for the web.
