Aurora @ dusk

Being partial to maritime scenes, big skies and low light it was not possible behold a scene like this and not draw a camera. I was riding home from work, it was rainy and I was crossing the Easmus-bridge (aka The Swan).
Depicted is P&O’s Aurora at the cruise terminal at the Wilhelminapier. This modern cruise ship has some nice retro ‘transatlantic style’ characteristics as the funnel, the sleek aft decks and the open promenade decks. To her right is the brand new Montevideo high rise (apartments) designed by Francien Houben and neighbouring that is the World Port Centre of Sir Norman Foster (traffic control facilities of the Rotterdam Port Authority and municipal services).

In this capture the cruise terminal and World Port Centre together with the Queen Mary 2 were captured near the south ramp of The Swan.

Aurora: 76000 tons, length 886 feet, 1874 passengers (1950 max) and 850 crew. Build by Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany in 2000.

The usual PCS2 tech: slightly cropped, adjusted levels, contrast, saturation and curves differentially; USM-ed , added a frame added and saved for the web.
