Haarlem Station

This is another little bit experimental picture, in which I want to play with light. It was taken at the railway station of my hometown Haarlem at 20.15h last evening, when the fierce sun shined into the station hall, so it was quite hard to handle, but I think it creates a nice and special atmosphere here. Hope you think so as well.

And it gives me to opportunity to tell you something about the Dutch railways. ;-) The Dutch Railway Company is called Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS). It uses the tracks that are supplied by ProRail (well actually, a better name would have been AntiRail, but I don't have enough space here to write down all my negative experiences, I have with this company, sorry for my frustrations...).
The first train in The Netherlands drove on 20 September 1839 between Haarlem and Amsterdam.
The present station building in Haarlem was built in 1905. It is located just outside the centre between het Stationsplein, het Kennemerplein, de Jansweg and de Kruisweg.
It takes 10 minutes by bicycle to my house and that's why I always take the train to the next station, Bloemendaal, that's only a 5 minute walk from my house.
The people on this picture were waiting for the 20.28h fast service from Amsterdam CS to Den Haag HS/Rotterdam/Dordrecht.

I hope you like this picture and the evening light in the railway station of my beloved hometown. Oh, one last thing about the picture, it isn't tilted, the platform is.
It was taken with a quite slow shutter speed, cause of the fierce light and I sat on my knees to get a low POV. Well, I think I informed you enough again. ;-)
Hope you like it!
