Photographer's Note
This is the main gate to the charming town Mdina,the former capital of MAlta.
I stay in Bugibba, a relatively new town in the St Paul Bay. Yesterday we (my friend and I) went by bus to Valletta. I hoped that it will be after high season, but still there are a lot of tourists and the buses are overcrowded and go rarely. To get in is quite an experience. today we went on foot first toMosta and then to Mdina and Rabat. Up to now I liked Mdina most, this is lovely tiny town with many monuments and well preserved.

That's a really charming gate to the town! The diagonal formed by the bridge lead our eyes to the gate, and the people add life and scale to the image! Excellent colors and sharpness! Wonderful composition!

Hello Malgo,
In April 1997 most buses were not so crowded. Tourism has probably increased a lot since then. I really don't remember if I passed through this town, but I am sure I didn't see this gate. It's a very well taken photo with the gate nicely framed by the trees and a diagonal bridge full of colorful people.

Hello Malgo,
I have such a picture of this impressive gateway taken from the self same spot. Here, the tourists on the bridge make a very good lead line directing our attention through the arch to the city beyond. Perfectly exposed with excellent colours and clarity. Very good rendering of the textural detail in the walls. The pine trees make an agreeable contrasting frame.

Great composition for this photo with the bridge placed well as a lead-in on the left hand side. The view is also nicely framed by the trees. The city looks beautiful with the flag nicely and proudly in top of the gate.

How nice that you are travelling in Malta with a friend - because I believe that you usually travel just by yourself. How lovely to have a companion!
This is a most impressive gate and Mdina must at one time have been a very heavily fortified city. Your photograph is very well composed and the groups of colourfully dressed tourists lead us nicely toward the gate and the massive old city walls. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
