The MAUSOLEUM
the conserved monument more between the rests of the complex of the Gordiani is a wide circular mausoleo that laughed them to the costantiniana age. E' a building to circular plant, in lateritious work, to two plans of which the basement, to shape of corridor, with curvilinear niches alternated to rectilinear, is disposed to ring around to a sturdy pylon centers them. Covered from once after botte and illuminated through windows to slit, the premises was used after the deposition of the defunct ones. The advanced, destined plan to the funeral ceremonies, has equal alternation of niches and is covered from time to cupola with great circular eyes for the lighting system. On the external surface of the wall that is raised beyond the push of the time, they are still visible frames and decorative bands in mattoni, and consoles in marble. The building was preceded from a porch colonnato with frontal gradinata width on model of the Pantheon. The entire construction repeats that one of the Mausoleo di Romolo, son of Massenzio emperor, built up, in the same age, on the way Appia. The Mausoleo of the complex of the Gordiani, seems, but, not to have some structural connection and works them with the villa of the Gordiani, neither knows who was dedicated
