Santa Maria in Aula Regia - Portico dei Cappuccini
The present building seventeenth century (1665) stands
in an area once occupied by the Monastery of St. Mary Auregario, whose presence is attested already in the tenth century. A.D.
Of particular interest is the main altar altarpiece,
dominated by the venerated statue of the Blessed Virgin
by late-Renaissance art Ferrara.
The impressive loggia dei Cappuccini, built in 1647,
by Cardinal Stefano Donghi, consists of 143 arches
incurred, each marble columns.
