The interior of the Victorian Wing of Kilmainham Jail in Dublin. This notorious prison held many of the leaders of the multiple Irish uprisings of the late 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of these leaders were executed here. Many poor Irish also starved within these walls during the potato famine.

This portion of the jail, with its interesting configuration of catwalks and metal stairways, along with the oval shape of the vast room and the skylight, have made this wing popular among film makers. The prison has been featured in a number of well-known films, including "In the Name of the Father" and "Michael Collins."
