SYMI is a mountainous island in the Dodeskanesos. Its economy was traditionally based on shipbuilding and sponge fishing. These days tourism is its main source of income.

Its Italianate harbour is very popular with yachts and things can get pretty busy there in summertime. We stayed up in Chora, the upper town is much quieter and you get the best views for free.
