Photographer's Note

Neuschwanstein ("New Swan Stone") castle, named after the Swan Knight, of Wagner's opera Lohengrin. It looks medieval, but it was built in the 1870s for Bavaria King Ludwig II, a Wagner fan.

From this angle you can appreciate its huge size. It has 360 rooms.

Disneyland's "Sleeping Beauty" Castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein. Another interesting fact - during WWII the Reichsbank held in it huge quantities of gold, which disappeared in the last days of the war.

I was fortunate to visit in November, so I was rewarded with those autumn colors.
