Photographer's Note

The castle Hohenschwangau was home to the parents of King Ludwig II. and is still owned by the Bavarian royal family. The Hohenschwangau Castle is situated on a wooded hill between the Alpsee and Swan Lake and situated just opposite Neuschwanstein. Built by Maximillian The Second (King Ludwig's Father) between 1832 and 1836 on the ruins of the much earlier Fortress Schwanstein, Castle Hohenschwangau has the neo-gothic look of an english castle. Ludwig II spent his childhood in Hohenschwangau Castle.Hohenschwangau is the castle that King Ludwig II stayed in while watching over the building of Neuschwanstein
