BRETON CULTURE AND TRADITION II.
I have already posted 2 versions of the adult traditional costume of Plougastel. But I thought children were not to be forgotten.
The dress codes used to be quite strict.
The costumes of the little girls in the darker blue were not worn after the age of five. They then changed into a brighter , more colourful costume until the age of twelve, when they matured into the adult costume, with the elaborate white head dress, instead of the pearl-decorated bonnet.
This is a scan and not of very good quality, as the film was a little old I think, and I didn't know how to crop photographs properly at the time.
As WS, I have added photos of the two different costumes for girls under twelve.
