Photographer's Note

My first day in France was a bit tiring. I had to get up very early for the flight from Modlin (30 km from Warsaw) to Toulouse. But it was OK because I was in Toulouse before 11 a.m. and could see the city. I walked around quite a lot (with my backpack), I visited three museum nad the cathedral, and in the afternoon I had the train first to Montpellier and then to Nimes. I was in Nimes in the late evening. The next day was also busy. First I went to see the monuments of Nimes. Near arena (The Arena of Nξmes is a Roman amphitheatre, situated in the French city of Nξmes. Built around AD 70, it was remodelled in 1863 to serve as a bullring. The Arena of Nξmes is the site of two annual bullfights during the Feria de Nξmes, and it is also used for other public events.) I jumped from joy - I saw a parking full of old citroens! They were beauties - in good state, as new, colourful. I I mad some pictures than I went to see other interesting places. When I returned back after a few hours, the cars were leaving one after another. So I was very lucky to see them :). The same day I went to Pont du Gard and late evening to Avignon. It was wonderful day!

The Citroλn 2CV (French: "deux chevaux" i.e., "deux chevaux-vapeur" (lit. "two steam horses", "two tax horsepower") is an air-cooled front-engine, front-wheel-drive economy car introduced at the 1948 Paris Mondial de l'Automobile and manufactured by Citroλn for model years 1948–1990. The 2CV featured low cost; simplicity of overall maintenance; an easily serviced air-cooled engine (originally offering 9 hp); low fuel consumption; and an extremely long-travel suspension[8] offering a soft ride and light off-road capability.It was often called "an umbrella on wheels". The 2CV was produced for 42 years.
