Photographer's Note

Back to a couple of the major chateaus in my Loire series today, starting with the Chateau de Cheverny, an early 17th century chateau and one that has relatively simple, (although a grand facade) and symmetrical lines. The interior is the usual sumptuous style of the period with plenty of marble, tapestries, fancy furniture, giltwork and sculptures. The chateau stands in the middle of wide lawns without nearby gardens with the photo showing a side view which from the POV taken makes the chateau look almost “small”.
