MUNKZWALM is the main village of Zwalm. It lies in the rolling landscape of the Flemish Ardennes, up and around the Zwalmbeek, a small tributary of the Scheldt river, in the beautiful countryside south of Ghent.
THIS PICTURE shows a stretch of country road just outside the village of Munkzwalm. Slight variation on a picture I posted earlier, hope I'm not too repetitive here.

Hello Benny,
Very simple and very elegant. Just a curving road and a well placed tree. One third blue sky. It could hardly be more simple or better balanced.

Hallo Benny,
Een heel mooi landschap met een simpele, maar sterke compositie. De groene grasvelden en de blauwe hemel gaan mooi samen. De weg vormt een mooi kromme lijn door het midden voordat ie in de verte verdwijnt.

Hello Benny,
A minimalist composition following classical lines. The road nicely curves round the frame taking us toward the perfectly placed tree. Well exposed with excellent colour contrasts and very good sharpness.

Ik weet niet zeker of ik hier juist op deze helling naar boven bent gereden.
Maar het is heerlijk fietsen in onze Vlaamse Ardennen.
Mooi perspectief en diepte beeld.

J'aime vraiment beaucoup cette composition. C'est trθs simple mais aussi trθs efficace et surtout elle donne envie de prendre la route vers des endroit ensoleillιs.

This is excellent, one way in, one way out with a wonderful curvaceous leading line and the road seems to overwhelm those little trees. Blue sky gives greater depth.....

Hallo Benny,
Op deze foto heb ik meer de indruk dat het bergop gaat dan op je vorige in het landschapformaat.
Ik weet niet of enkel het fotoformaat voor die indruk verantwoordelijk is. Mogelijk ook omdat er hier aan beide kanten van de baan iets minder veld te zien is.
Een eenvoudige maar mooie compositie.

Good morning Benny,
Some might have thought there was nothing worth photographing here, and yet your artistic eye caught the beauty of this winding road amongst the green fields, watched over by a perfect blue sky.
Great choice of a vertical format.
