In 1762 two associations founded in Spa, "La Redoute", the oldest gaming world. In exchange for a hefty share in the profits, provided the Prince-Bishop of Liege for their right to organize parties and balls there, and betting and gambling.
This privilege had to be shared later with a new playroom, the Waux-Hall, which was founded a few years later.
There is no doubt that these two establishments have contributed very sensitive to the pomp and glory of our city.
