When you are near the top of the belfry is at the end of the square of Tournai, you have this view. A narrow staircase of 257 steps winding guides you to the last balcony.
The belfry is seen in the cities of Belgium and northern France as the emblem of communal liberties. A real commitment binds the people of our region in these buildings.
The Tournai no exception to the rule: they are rightly proud to have one of the oldest and most beautiful belfries of Belgium. Most alerts are happy to climb the 257 steps that lead to the summit where they admire the view.
