Photographer's Note

This one is another scene of pollination of a flower, done by a butterfly which I don't know its name, that I caught during my walks along the mountains of Andorra, in my summer vacations.
Here you can see a Moorish Brush, with a nice butterfly on its yarns, caught in Rialb's Valley.

Information: The moorish brush (atropurpurea Scabiosa), is a plant of the Dipsacaceae family.
Biennal plant, almost glabra, with graft stem of 20-60 cm high. Opposite leaves. Flowers in small heads of up to 3 cm wide, hemispheric, in the fruition are extended, with a long peduncle. Corolla of the external flowers of up to 2 cm in length, lilac until dark purple, with 3 inferior lobes more superior thicknesses and the 2 shortest ones.
Habitat: Stony and dry lands. It lives in the Mediterranean. Frequently cultivated.
Common name: Castilian: beautiful lady, beautiful mother, bellboys of lady, crown of clergyman, escabiosa, escabiosa of Indians, marine escabiosa, Moorish brush, flowery bush, white hat, hat of bishop, hat of widow, widow, purple widow.

sta es otra escena de la polinizacin de una flor, hecha por una mariposa cuyo nombre ignoro, que capt durante mis paseos por las montaas de Andorra, en mis vacaciones de verano.
Aqu podis ver una Escobilla Morisca, con una bonita mariposa sobre sus estambres, captada en el Valle de Rialb.

Informacin: La escobilla morisca (Scabiosa atropurpurea), es una planta de la familia Dipsacceas.
Planta bienal, casi glabra, con tallo ramificado de 20-60 cm de alto. Hojas opuestas. Flores en cabezuelas de hasta 3 cm de ancho, semiesfricas, en la fructificacin son alargadas, con un largo pednculo. Corola de las flores externas de hasta 2 cm de largo, lila hasta prpura oscuro, con 3 lbulos inferiores ms gruesos y 2 superiores ms cortos.
Hbitat: Terrenos pedregosos y secos. Vive en el Mediterrneo. Frecuentemente cultivada.
Nombre comn: Castellano: bella dama, bella madre, botones de dama, corona de clrigo, escabiosa, escabiosa de Indias, escabiosa martima, escobilla morisca, mata florida, sombrero blanco, sombrero de obispo, sombrero de viuda, viuda, viuda morada.
