Photographer's Note
It is the rainy season in Nicaragua. In the plains, it is common to see large rains or storms isolated at distance, unless to receive them on the head! This time, with the very black cloud and the opaque curtain of rain, it was particularly impressive. The cows on the other hand did not seem disturbed, they are used of it. Just behind the curtain of rain is the volcano Mombacho. Unfortunately I did not find in time a place where to park the car in safety before to see the volcano disappearing behind the rain. I am not ready to risk an accident to improve my compositions!
Es la temporada de las lluvias en Nicaragua. En los llanos, es corriente de ver grandes lluvias o tormentas aisladas lejos, a menos de recibirlas sobre la cabeza. Esta vez, con la nube muy negra y la cortina de lluvia opaca, era especialmente impresionante. Las vacas al contrario no parecνan perturbadas, estαn acostumbradas. Detrαs de la cortina de lluvia se encuentra el volcαn Mombacho. Desgraciadamente no encontrι a tiempo un lugar donde parquear el vehνculo en seguridad antes que el volcαn desaparezca detrαs la lluvia. ‘Todavνa estoy aϊn dispuesto a correr el riesgo de un accidente para mejorar mis composiciones!

Brilliant, doesn't need the volvano. Excellent composition and you have balanced the contrast between the unconcerned cows, the rain and the blue sky almost to perfection (and I know how hard that is). Yes this is a decisive momment, well done and thanks for sharing.

A very strange weather phenomenon. Great contrast between the bright foreground and the dark clouds. The cows just make it perfect. Thanks for posting this one - it's fascinating as well as a good pic.

Still very impressive, Yves, We have rain in SF lately, but nothing to get the camera out, at least as far as getting a thunderous shot like yours. The contratst between that peaceful setting still in the glow of the sun, and the soon to come maelstrom of unleashing dark clouds is outstanding. Standing out too!

Trθs bonne prise. Il est en effet difficile de voir beaucoup de ces prises sur TE car il faut ΰ la fois un oeil alerte et un appareil sous la main.
Quoi qu'il en soit, la composition cerne bien le rideau de pluie.
Je vois beaucoup de bruit dans la photo, mais mon ιcran et ma carte graphique sont connus pour κtre de mιdiocre qualitι et ils rendent mal certaines images.

It is strange really Yves. While we sit here, dry and comfy under the sun, someone is running wet inside the curtain of rainfalls. But I find the cows rather funny. They just act nonchalant, as if nothing strange or different is happening.

Look this calm cows in all this turbulence and dramatic atmosphere:-)
The border between the rain and the other part is great. Light is superb with sunny parts and storm that comes!

En Belgique, c'est souvent la saison des pluies, malheureusement, c'est moins spectaculaire que sur ta photo. Ce que j'aime sur celle-ci est le contraste entre l'endroit oω broutent les bκtes (si tu n'avais pas photographiι le ciel, on aurait pu croire qu'il ιtait bleu), et ce ciel hyper-menaηant et noir. Joli cadrage aussi qui permet de voir un coin de ciel dιgagι, renforηant une fois de plus les contrastes.

Impressionante celle-ci Yves. La lumiθre sous le nuage est superbe. Tu as les elements nιcessaires dans la photo, avec les animaux en particulier, pour donner l'echelle. Rιunir cet orage et le beau temps dans une meme image est trθs rare. Il fautr etre lΰ au bon moment (et ne pas risquer d'accident;).
