Isla Ometepe - The ever-present Concepcin

In a previous note I had already written that at nearly every place on the island Ometepe youre able to see at least one of the two volcanoes as a an ever-present feature.
The most beautiful one is of course the 1.610 m. high cone-shaped Concepcin, one of Nicaragua active volcanoes.

The most recent eruption took place in 1957. The natural violence at this last eruption was enormous. But still few inhabitants of Ometepe responded to the government's command in Managua to leave Ometepe.

The island has an estimated 32.400 inhabitants. The two largest towns are Moyogalpa and Altagracia. Ometepe has an economy based on livestock, agriculture, and tourism.
Plantains are the major crop.

I dont know if a banana plantation fits into the 'nature' category.
But fields and tropical forests are often located next to each other on Ometepe.
And then of course theres the Concepcin.
