Photographer's Note

I took this picture in Sapa in the northern Vietnam. I woke up early to wander around the city for a while and to have breakfast after that. I was supposed to meet my group and go with them to Cat Cat village at 9am.
I left my room about 7am and I started walking around... Red Dao people and Black H'mongs... taking pictures, great moments...
On my way back to the restaurant to have breakfast I met this Black H'mong girl and her friends, they tried to sell me some small music instruments and some bracelets. I didn't want to buy anything and I was rushing to have breakfast before 9am, but she was really great... She played kind of a game with me, trying to sell me things and at the same time posing to photos pretending she was not posing...
Buy music! no... buy! no! why not? I don't want to buy anything... buy! no.. buy! no, not now... maybe later... Will you buy later? maybe... promise! no! promise!...
she was my model for a while, great memories.
Finally I caught the group a bit after 9am. and I didn't have breakfast - no time!, we went to Cat Cat village.

Later that day I bought something small from her. just to thank her for photos and for time we spent chatting...

now I think that day in Sapa was one of the happiest days in my life...

Original shot, PS - auto contrast, sharpening a bit.
