In the background one of the most beautiful sights of Samarkand - Bibi-Khanym Mosque at sunset.

Soft and warm backlight makes ehnhances the main subject so nicely. "Visit uzvekisutan" image !

Witaj Kasiu, Przyjemne trzy zdjecia z Samarkandy. Dwie dziewczyny wiedzialy, kogo poprosić o zdjęcie. Ładny widok tego wspaniałego meczetu o zachodzie. Bardzo ładny tez portret Uzbeka.
Zycze miłego weekendu. Ja w niedzielę wyjeżdżam, juz sie nie moge doczekać, jakbym bardzo dawno nigdzie nie wyjeżdżała. chyba znasz to uczucie :).

Hello Kasia,
This was not the easiest light to handle but it's easy to understand why you took their portraits from this angle. The warm, low backlight is beautiful and creates a fine atmosphere and of course the mosque provides a perfect background. And there is still enough light on their faces. I suppose you showed them this picture, but it's still funny how people sometimes ask to have their photos taken even if they usually don't expect to get a copy.
The WS photos are very good too. The elderly man has a very kind face and his hat is fantastic. It's a very good portrait. The street photo reminds me of Afghanistan, not very far away,

Zdravo Kasiu.I have somewhere in my possession an old video cassette in which iI recorded a documentary about Samarkand and how during the Soviet era so much was crumbling, no funds, no interest to prevent decay. Plus, th told artisans were dying and the art of making blue tiles was about to be lost. It is so good to see that these buildings have been restored and this mosque looks fresh and beautiful in the light of the setting sun. Srdacni pozdrav. Klaudio.

Hi Kasia,
These beautiful ladies asked you to take a photo? Haha, that would answer my problem in being nervous to ask or to try candid. Really nicely done on making the very very best of the moment, the mosque behind looks stunning, but its the golden light bouncing off the walls that really makes it for me. You balanced the light beautifully to make a superb combination or portrait and architecture,really nicely done.

i really like Gert's comments...he mentioned how funny it is how people will ask for their photo taken but know they'll probably never ever get it!
yet anytime you can have locals ask like this, you have to say yes :)
its these memories that really stay with us when we get home.

Hello Kasia,
I have with a lot of attention the three picture good viewed.
The first picture is very difficult through the backlight, but not bad.
Second picture is a beauty, in high quality made, very nice to look at.
Third picture, your portrait is very well photographed, only I would a little bit cropping above, but this is a very small detail.
Your three picture are made on a very well manner, and very nice presented.

Lovely informal portraiture enhanced by wonderful touch of golden light as a good invitation to explore the absorbing beauty of the architecture. The ladies create a stable frame to hold the eye together turning this to an appealing shot. Great piece of photo work, Congrats.

3 beautiful models in this photo, of course the 2 ladies and then the remarkable structure towering behind them. I love the skin-tones, the vibrant blue colours of the lady's shirt and the excellent light management. The ladies must have felt very comfortable with you to ask you to take their photo.

We had a lot of local people wherever we went in Uz requesting for taking their pictures...and wonderfully smile at the camera!
Here you have done well with the backdrop of the famous mosque, and shooting directly into the sun, but the low sun bathes the pavement in an orange glow
