Photographer's Note

Wat Yai Chai Mongkol in Ayutthaya was built in 1357
The immense reclining statue of Buddha represents Buddha after his death. Like all the temples and palaces of Ayutthaya, this temple was sacked by the Burmese when they finally took Ayutthaya in 1767.

Two small boys were offering their prayers in the foreground. The pillar-ruins of the temple form the background.
