Photographer's Note

Jim Thompsons House in Bangkok is a green and peaceful oasis in the centre of all the hubbub of daily life near National Stadium Skytrain Station.
Jim Thompson, an American, was sent to Thailand near the end of WW2, he liked it and returned when the war had ended. He then set about re-establishing the Thai silk industry. He also had a number of old style teak houses dismantled from around Thailand and brought to Bangkok where they were reassembled and became his home. About six years later he went on holiday to the Cameroon Highlands in Malaysia and was never seen or heard of again. His house and gardens, now a marvellous museum, and the flourishing silk industry remain his memorial.
If you are visiting Bangkok and want to visit somewhere different Jim Thompsons House is a must. These fish are in a large rectangular pond alongside a small cafe. Changes have recently been made to the site and a superb restaurant has been added.
