Photographer's Note

The title is a quote from The Who's '5:15'. One of the tings I found striking about Singapore on my first trip, was just how many shops there are. It's possible to walk for miles in air conditioned passageways between intereconntected malls, so that sometimes it's quite a surprise to find yourself outside. Even more disconcerting is this area of redeveloped streets around Bugis Street, where the original colonial facades have been retained, and streets roofed in, so that can walk around apparantly normal streets in a controlled environment. It's possible to forget that you're inside unless you look up, or remember how cool it is.
