Photographer's Note

This animal looks more like a flower than a worm. It lives in a tube of mud and sand under the water, which sticks up from the seabed. When it feeds it extends delicate tentacles from the top of the tube, trapping any edible particles that drift within its reach. If the duster''s feathery tentacles are touched, or if a shadow passes over them, they will vanish into the tube.

Common name: Feather duster tube worm
