Landing at Kuching airport in a sunny day gave this view through the aircraft's cabin window. Frequently changing weather pattern has caused forecasts to be unreliable, causing upset flight schedules and delays. But we are lucky not to face strong chaotic weather. Most travelers enter Sarawak through this Gateway by 1.75 hour flight from Kuala Lumpur or 1.25hour from Kota Kinabalu. The airport has just undergone extension although still unable to meet Airbus A380 standard, and sadly most international flights have been dropped by local national airlines trying to control monopoly while open sky policies are not effected.

Most Europeans like Borneo for its undiscovered secrets and dense tropical rainforest and native longhouses. Many traditional and cultural diversity and aspects of local people have attracted visitors. Many of us speak and write at least 2-3 languages, some may be fluent in many spoken dialects. English is popular in Malaysia, and local food is easily visitors' favorites once they discover the recipe. Welcome to Kuching, when you come to visit.
