Photographer's Note

This little girl lives in a small village in the rain forrest of the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. She was quite shy. When I tried to get a little closer for a close up she moved backwards instantly.

The Orang Asli people living in the village do so in a traditional way. You won't find any luxurious items here like radio, mobile phone's, tv's, cars, etc. Instead these people go hunting for food, find wood for the fire to cook on, etc.

There are modern villages as well where they do have all the luxury. The reason why some villages do and others don't have the luxury has to do with their (change of) religion as I have been told by our guide.

You will not be able to visit this village of Orang Asli yourself but only via a guided tour organised by the Father's Guesthouse in Tanah Rata which means you will have to stay at their guesthouse.

Visiting this village well worth the money since you get an insight of traditional life of the indigenous inhabitants of Malaysia. Half of the entrance fee of the tour goes to the education of the children of this village.

(i'll add some info on shutter time, F-stop, iso, etc later on as I have to look it up at the original photo)
