Photographer's Note

This festival was held at Tokyo downton the day before yeserday. This one is held each three years and should be held last year, but postpned one year due to last big earthquake. The most characteristic of this festival is that in total 55 portable shrines are carried out at Tokyo downtown and much water is splashed toward each shrine. Watering seems to have meaning of "purification" and also just cooling down as this is the nottest season. Usually water is splashed from buckets but for this shot water is not from buckets but from "fire extinguishers". So water is like a mist and by getting strong Summer back light the portable shrine can get a fantastic silhouette.
