Photographer's Note

At one end of the lively Trichy market, down the Rock Fort, I noticed this guy.

He was just sitting there in the shade, smoking a biddie nearby the green grocery quarter. It seemed he had finished his task for the day or sold his crop. He was muscular though not young enough to be one of the heavy burden handlers... too classy to be a beggar, he didn't ask me for anything. I asked him to take a few shots, he nodded ok and as soon as I pointed my lens he gave me THE look... A genuine man of Image... if I were a Hollywood producer I'd hire him for unlimited films.

Late Sterling Hayden, Samuel Jackson in a few years, , James Cagney growing up a beard, Hemingway or Captain Achab... he could re-enact or replace them all... anytime.

(Looks like real men don't shave their backs too.)
