Light & Shadows ....

It was alomst 9:30 in the morning when we started our tresk from Bar-Lacha Pass (16500 mts, above Sea level)for Chandratal. The view was majestic, the only sound was that of the wind, whistling and the tinkling bells of the horses being lead by their owner (can be seen in the snap). I was facinated by the play of shadows of the clouds passing overhead on the mountains around, it was mesmerizing.

Chandra Taal (meaning the Lake of the Moon), or Chandra Tal, is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in the Himalayas. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape. Situated in the Spiti part of the Lahul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh (India). The lake is accessible on foot from Batal as well as from Kunzum Pass from late May to early October. But we took a route which is slightly different, we trekked from the Barlacha pass (around 16500 feetabove sea level) in Lahul to Chandra Tal via Tokpo Gongma and Tokpo Yongma.
