The Naga Babas who congregate in hundreds at the Kumbh Melas are ascetic warriors who have fought battles for centuries. There are naked (Naga) Sadhus which are non-shaven and have thick dreadlocks, and Jata, who carry swords. Aghora sadhus may claim to keep company with ghosts, or live in cemeteries as part of their holy path. Indian culture tends to emphasize an infinite number of paths to God, such that sadhus, and the varieties that sadhus come in have their place.

There are quite a few shots of them which you might have seen earlier on TE and elsewhere. This frame particularly caught my attention. It signifies their true spirit and devotion, age never plays a barrier. Even into the eighties perhaps his last royal bath at Maha Kumbh, the next one being 12 years later.
