Photographer's Note

This pic was taken at Laknavaram Lake, Warangal District.

Some Info:
The lake was the discovery of ancient Kakatiya rulers. They spotted this excellent place amidst trees and green hills lined up around to hold the rainwater. The Kakatiya rulers only built a small sluice gate turning the place into a spacious lake which now feeds thousands of acres of agricultural land every year.

It lies within the limits of Laknavaram village near Mulug, about 70 km from Warangal. It is a perfect haunt for bird watching in winter. Some crocodiles are also spotted.
[But sadly we were not able to spot any on the day we went :( ]

More Info :
Among the many fascinating places of attraction the district has, Laknavaram lake is among the top besides Pakhal lake and Ramappa temple.

Recently, the Department of Tourism constructed a suspension bridge across the lake joining the island which is an added attraction for tourists visiting this beautiful lake. (this can be seen in the background)

The only crib is that the place could be better maintained! The track leading to this lake is now being improved but the islands itself is strewn about with plastics spoiling the untamed beauty.
