Photographer's Note

Qingdao is an old port city in Shandong Province NE of Shanghai. It was settlled by the Germans many years ago and, has remained to this day, famous for its Qingdao Beer, probably the best known beer in all of China.
This beach was a bit windy and uncomfortable on this day but the locals and likely visitors were keen not to miss out on one of China's best beaches in the north east.

Qingdao is one of the largest ports in the world and can handle 180 containers an hour as well as being one of the largest ports used to import iron ore. The amazing thing about the new port is that it is run from a very modern office full of computer technology. Almost the whole unloading of 120,000 tonne ships is carried out automatically. The control room has a distinct James Bond feel about it.
