Photographer's Note
The Great Wall of China stretches more than 8850 kilometers, according to estimates by the Chinese authorities. Walls, trenches and natural barriers (ridges and rivers).
A landscape always impressive to observe with this aspect of long ribbon which stretches on the slopes and the crests of the mountains to fade away in the mists.
Here, a view of the eastern part of the area in Juyongguan, about sixty km north of Beijing.

Hello Jean,
The different parts of the wall create a fine pattern on top of the dark green hills. It may be crowded and noisy down there most of the time, but from a distance this is no doubt one of the most impressive building complexes in history (but not seen from the moon.)

I like the junction of 3 walls here not just once, but twice. I was lucky enough to see this in 2007 and for sure it's one of the highlights of China. Good sharpness and elevated pov. Tfs!

Bonjour Jean,
this is a very impressive composition showing the famous wall more as a network of walls going into several directions.
Fantastic point of view which allowed you to take in this great scene.
Interesting also to see quite a dense vegetation surrounding the wall, I suppose from between the trees the wall may not be even visible so you really need a good viewpoint to fully appreciate it.

Hello Jean, you give us a fantastic view of the wall from your high vantage point. The composition works really well with the walls creating a diagonal line across the frame.
The people are just the tiniest of dots which help us to appreciate the scale of the enterprise.
