This picture happens to be taken in Kairouan, but it could have been anywhere in Tunisia. Lots of cities have their old medina heart intact and it's great wandering through these narrow streets among old stone architecture admiring the many colourful wooden doors and window shutters. Let's get lost...

A medina is a distinct city section found in many North African cities. The medina is typically walled, contains many narrow and maze-like streets. The word 'medina' itself simply means 'city' or 'town' in modern day Arabic.
