Photographer's Note

Me Fatouma, small girl of Jambiani, I was bored with the paradise. I walked every days on this deserted beach. There were only the sun which made grimace and the heat of the sand which burned the feet.

Then, I turned around a shell. I collected some algae to throw them further, I sang some words which came me at the head.

Fortunately; there was a foreigner who lived at the edge of this beach. I passed much from time to turn around his house.
It was very astonishing to see it. I was even a little afraid. I told him words "djambo! salama!" but he had a stupid air. He did not understand anything...


Moi Fatouma, petite fille de Jambiani, je m'ennuyais au paradis. Je marchais tous les jours sur cette plage dserte.
Il n'y avait que le soleil qui faisait grimacer et la chaleur du sable qui brlait les pieds.

Alors, je tournais autour d'un coquillage. Je ramassais quelques algues pour les jeter plus loin, je chantais quelques paroles qui me venaient en tte.

Heureusement; il y a avait un tranger qui habitait au bord de cette plage. Je passais beaucoup de temps tourner autour de sa case. C'tait trs tonnant de le voir. J'avais mme un peu peur.
Je lui disais des mots " djambo ! salama !" mais il avait l'air bte. Il ne comprenait rien...
