Photographer's Note
So, on the night of the so-called supermoon, it poured with rain where I live - all night - but the drought is still fresh enough in our memories that there were no complaints.
This shot comes from an earlier full moon - and was taken in the desert using the light of the moon and a 30 second exposure.
Helmeringhausen is the original one-street town. With a hotel and campsite on one side of the street, and a post office, general store, bottle store and petrol station on the other side. There are a few houses and that is it. About 200km from the next town - but the hotel used to get a big friday-and-saturday-night farmer scene from 100s of kms around.

Hi Iain,
What a wonderful moment! Staying outside in desert moonlight. With a camera and tripod. And a rusty old car frame as a main subject. I've nevers seen moonlight reflecting like that.

Hello Iain
Full moon, captured so bright it looks like a studio shot, the blue sky like a backdrop curtain. Did you get the low pov because that's where you improvised a tripod?
The Flemish weatherman quoted Shakespeare when discussing the supermoon. It's going to be much ado about nothing, he said. Good man!
Cheers

Hi Iain
oh man, i wish i could have been here taking a photo too!
love these abandoned old rusted out cars and trucks.
its a subject that we don't see enough of on TE, so its wonderful to see one in your gallery.
smart compo and set up, the low pov brings the grill upfront and center, as well as the bumper. cool atmosphere too.

Hello Iain, Wonderful night picture made with the moonlight. Is this town real town or just the ghost town as the old wreck could suggest. Haha, I know the distances in Namibia.
marvelous composition, fantastic colours and light. Excellent work. Lovely sky. Can you see the there the Southern Cross? I do not know why, I haven't seen it in Southern Africa.

Hello Iain So you're one of those zombies who, instead of frightening peole, wander all night long in the desert seeking for unusual scraggy shapes that could satisfy their passion for experimental photography! Many thanks for the inspiring art. Cheers
