Photographer's Note

Here's another one from Africa's roof, Lesotho, although taken only about 20 meters from the South African border. Africa's highest pub was my lodge for the night.

I don't drink, so I get that question a lot. "Why would YOU sleep in a pub??". Well, first of all I love extreme places. Anything that can be called highest, coldest, hottest, most remote and so on. Secondly, I didn't really have much of a choice. The pub is located on the top of a mountain pass, right next to the border. I arrived the pass at 8 in the evening and the border was closed. I was stuck with nothing else than this pub for at least 50 km in all directions. But I'll admit it was a cozy place. They had the best breakfast on my entire trip.

Anyway, after arriving I obviously had a lot of time to kill. It was -10 degrees and full moon. What else to do than enjoying the stars and the breathtaking view with my camera from the edge of the cliff, with an international border cutting directly through me?
