Masai Mara, Kenya...

The annual Great Migration of wildebeest and other grazing herbivores across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world.

Over two million herbivores partake in this journey, with about 1.3 million wildebeests (“gnu”), 200,000 zebras and 500,000 Thomson's gazelles.

In search of adequate water and grazing, herds migrate from Serengeti in the south to Masai Mara in the north in mid-summer, and return in autumn.
