Great emka 2014-03-20 20:14

hello dear Angshu, Amazing that in such harsh condition the people want (or maybe must) to leave. Imagine to be cut off the civilization during 8 months. And what about if someone need a doctor? And to go in snow on foot.. incredible. magnificent view of the highest mountains and marvelous light. No altitude sickness?

Default To emka: Altitude sickness

Dear Malgo
If you go to Ladakh by flight, the first day is absolute rest to get adjusted to altitude...there after when we went to different places in Ladakh in a car and, we didn't have any altitude sickness....my wife felt some in Tso Moriri, but not me or my daughter. As we moved around Ladakh, we crossed the two highest mountain passes in the world - Kahrdung La at 5,602 m (18,379 ft)and Chang La (el. 5,360 m or 17,590 ft)...its feels amazing, standing at those high altitudes breathing in the thin air...but spending more than an hour in those altitudes is difficult for many people
Best Regards
Angshu
