Great holmertz 2011-12-06 10:43

Hello Benny,
Qatar in July, that sounds nice. Rehearsing for the World Cup of 2022?
I don't know if this is old, or new and made to look old. Doesn't really matter, it's a nice view anyway, looking very traditional with the little minaret and the palms. The harsh mid-day light is very well handled and the colours are pleasantly soft.
Regards,
Gert

Post To holmertz: hot cup

How on earth Qatar will pull it off that world cup, I have no idea. Maybe you've already read about those stadium-size hovershield cooling devices they're considering to have floating above the football grounds...? Money is no object, but still...

Or the first indoor world cup, perhaps?

And then there's the Platini proposal to organize the world cup in the winter, when temperatures are somewhat more tolerable. (But then all the major European leagues will have to be rescheduled.)

Anyway, believe me, something's gotta be done, because temperatures up to 50°C aren't suitable for a game of footie.

But my biggest worry would probably be whether Belgium would finally, finally please make it to the finals of a major tournament again.
