Great daddo 2009-02-18 19:09

Hi way. i like looking at your shots of Laos and i know exactly what you mean by saying"a stranger in your own home."Happens to all those who leave their homeland and go back after a substantial period of time. not only have you changed, but they have also. In my place of birth they have a word for us- smušeni- the confused ones, or those without bearings. I went through the same thing as you when i returned and it doesn't get better the second time around. The photo is beautiful with its gentle light and pastel colours. The additional human figures remind mo of Japanese woodblock art by artists like Hokusai. Regards. Klaudio.

Default To daddo: In this case not much changed

Laos has not changed much in the last 20 something years, some of the houses and my old school was exactly the same, except much older and more beat up. Though things are starting to change rapidly. Japan, Australia and some other large countries are donating money to build road and infrastructure there, manufacturing company popping up here and there. Korean has a Hundai motorcycle plant being build near my small town that has no electricity when I left. The next time I go back, I'm sure it will be a whole new world. Thanks for you kind words
