Great tyro 2016-04-17 6:36

Hello John,

This may be a sad and far too common sight in New York and so many other cities, but it makes a perfect "reportage" photograph. And your black and white conversion together with excellent tones, textures and strong contrasts lends the image a wonderful "grittiness" which suits the desperate subject perfectly.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

Default To tyro: Thanks

Hi John
Good to see you still active on here. I was up your way the other week (the old racecourse) which made me think of both yourself and the site. I ended up back on and the rest is history as they say ;-)

Hope you are well

John

Hi John,

Yep, I've been absent from TE for a couple of weeks (fixing cars and doing some things around the house) but, interestingly, I go walking every week with a couple of other old codgers and a couple of times we've wandered around Baron's Haugh with our cameras - quite a good walk to go around the nature reserve then head along the Clyde Walkway to Strathclyde Park where they do good bacon rolls (at least four rashers in each and the tomato sauce is free! ) and then walk back again. So we probably weren't that far from you either!

And on those occasions when the weather's too grim for walking we'll head off to somewhere else of interest - which explains my recent shot from the Bo'ness railway.

Have a good Sunday,

John.
