Great tyro 2016-07-31 4:26

Hi Mike,

No, I don't think I ever said that dentists were butchers - I seem to recall that "sadists" was the term I used!

But this is a fine portrait of this lady you spotted at your mediaeval fair. Curiously, although she appears to be trying to appear like someone akin to Madame Defarge or an older version of Nurse Ratched, she does appear to have a certain natural kindliness in her face - those prominent laughter lines give away her true real-life character! And I'll be she was more than happy to have you take her picture.

A brilliant portrait, very well taken and with excellent details and clarity. And black and white is the perfect medium for this one.

Brilliant!

Kind Regards,

John.

Default To tyro: Vagaries of memory

Hi John

With your clinical precision and memory for detail I'll take your word for it. Ironically, this lady was partly responsible for a stand collecting money for Alzheimer's charities. I do wonder these days, if I have it's earliest symptoms!

I do have a shot of her smiling and she was tremendous fun at the time, though this image had more impact than the other faces she pulled!

Cheers

Mike

Default Memory....

Hi Mike,

On the subject of memory, one of my friends with whom I go walking every week seems to be really worried that he might be losing his memory - though to me he appears to have no problems at all in that regard. However, when the local NHS memory clinic recently decided to run a van around the local communities, he took the opportunity to 'phone and book an appointment for a memory test on the day the van was going to be nearest to him.

Unfortunately, the van didn't turn up as the staff had forgotten.

Cheers,

John.
