Great holmertz 2019-12-16 0:50

Hello Malgo,
This photo is great for showing such a totally undramatic view from a country where most of us would probably not expect anything like this. "Nothing specials" like this give at least me much more satisfaction than most photos of fine mosques or modern glass buildings. This is learning about the world through photography.
Kind regards,
Gert

Talking To holmertz: What to expect?

Hello Gert, Thank you for your kind words. But question is: what would you expect to see in Saudi Arabia? In fact, I also had no idea. I thought that SA is a very rich country. Probably it is but I haven't noticed it . Jeddah has 4 millions inhabitants and is the thenth largest in the Arab world (?) but I didn't know how to go around so I just went to the places that were very nice - Corniche and the Old Town.
Even if I look at the photos and videos before, I am surprised to see the places in reality, very often it is not as I expected. Luckily, otherwise what would be the reason to travel?
Have a nice day

MAlgo

That's the point. What can be expected from a country that has been closed to all foreigners except businessmen and pilgrims, who would not have time for this kind of sightseeing?
