Great macondo 2016-02-09 20:15

Hi Kari.
Really nice shot; it staggers me that no one has yet offered a critique of this. What is wrong with people? You caught this scene in a wonderful late-winter sunshine, which creates the shadows and highlights the colour of the brick-work to make this a lovely architecture shot. Add in the small throng of people and the classic car, and you have the daily-life element as well. The only small problem with this photo is that it appears to have been actually enlarged for this page, rather than compressed (I looked at the original in a new tab) and has lost some sharpness.
One further point - before I looked at the location, the name Finlayson made me think this was somewhere in the USA or UK, an anglophone country anyway, as I have always thought of it as a Scottish name. But perhaps it's Scandinavian, although perhaps not Finnish according to my tiny experience of your language!
Regards,
Andrew

Thanks Andrew,
No this is not enlarged for this page, the width is exactly 790 pixels. Instead opening the photo in new tab shrinks it if it doesn't fit into your screen. Factory founder, James Finlayson, was indeed Scottish.

My mistake, Kari. I think my web browser page had enlarged itself! I must have done it inadvertently.
Thanks for the explanation about Finlayson.
All the best.
Andrew
