Hi
You must use this software version for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Firefox

The beta software is the best one and easy to use for removing publicity

Hi Rosemary!

I have lots of ads-removing add-ons and extensions in all the browsers which I use (FireFox and Opera and Safari (sometimes)), so I know all about them

AdBlock (in any type of browser) works only locally - on your own computer where you install this add-on - nowhere else.

AdBlock removes only images of the buttons (or any other ads) - but it does not remove the buttons from TrekEarth website itself!

If you install AdBlock in any of the browsers which you use, only you will stop seeing the annoying ads or any unwanted images (including the Pinterest button).

But anybody else (including photo-thieves) will continue seeing the Pinterest button, of course... and use the button to pin photos!

See the attached examples - 2 screenshots with no ads (I use NoScript and AdBlockPlus in FireFox) - this is how I see the TrekEarth website.

PS. Didi must have misunderstood the problem...

Didi,

you removed the Pinterest button only locally - it is not visible only in your browser! all others can see it.

The Pintrest button can not be removed from TrekEarth page.

Please, do not mislead Rosemary

NB: as an example - I attach a screenshot. The Pinterest button is still there!
I opened the same page in Internet Explorer which has no Adblock add-ons.

Didi,

ce n'est pas une question de ne pas voir le bouton Pinterest.

Il s'agit d'une question de la suppression du bouton de pages TrekEarth: add-ons ne peuvent pas faire a!

Rosemary a parl d'un problme totalement diffrent!

Didi and Fanni - Thanks for your input here, Didi, Fanni is right, it is not really about not being able to see the buttons, it is about disabling them altogether. People are pinning shots without credits, permission etc. I have seen TE images used on pinterest in conjunction with businesses. So our pics are being used for advertising or in connection with advertising. This is illegal and TE copyright terms clearly state that pics may not be used by third parties unless permission is granted by the owner. This is not happening and TE seems to encourage third party use by way of pinning. There is a double standard at work here which I do not like!

One member was kicked off TE for posting shots which he stole from other websites and tried to pass off as his work, which is great. But conversely TE seems to haver no problems with other people taking our work and using it for their own purposes. It has to be about income generation. The more feet through the TE door, the more opportunity to make money. Trouble is it is on the backs of our work!

Rosemary
