Great jean113 2019-11-18 8:48

Hello Mariusz, what a thought provoking set of notes today!
Yes, if we didn’t know better, we could think that this scene was from another planet.
Is the red colour due to the presence of iron?
Excellent sharp shot.
Kind regards, Jean.

Default To jean113: Iron oxides

Hi Jean,
Yes. Most of the red color of the rocks in the nature, regardless what is their origin, is due to iron compounds (iron oxides).
Kind regards,
Mariusz
